02 — The experiment
Nobody knows
what comes next.
The Next Stranger is a participatory portrait project by Daniel Hunter.
In Washington Square Park, each participant receives an instruction written by the person before them. They perform it for a photograph, then leave a new instruction behind.
The result is a chain of public choreography: part portrait, part handwriting, part chance. Every gesture is both an ending and a beginning.
